I just spent a day trying to work out WTF was going on, it wasn’t I stumbled upon the fact that maximizing the window made the problem go away that I managed to give Google the right keywords to find your blog.

For the record, I was using the Oxygen-Molecule theme to get GTK apps to look right in KDE, it was the cause of the issue!

I think plenty of them are valid to a certain degree. Though I believe their PR is mostly just attempting to gain a strong user-base so they can monetize it in the future. Oracle wouldn’t give up the Hudson trademark in order to keep the community around, claiming it “wasn’t a fair deal” for them, so clearly the bottom line is their only priority.

Thanks, but it’s a shame it didn’t exactly work the way I expected it. IA had conflicting classes in it’s top-level ClassLoader that were causing all sorts of issues with the code I was trying to execute. In the end I had to spawn a new instance of the JVM in order to get it to run correctly. Still a nifty trick that I will likely use later, though.
